Konservatism i planeraridyllen

ORDNING Prins Charles försöksby Poundbury har för övrigt fått växtvärk. Planerna på ett hus med nya lägenheter och kontor har stött på problem, och boende i den konstruerade idyllen protesterar:
Campaigners also argued that the building was too large and would block daylight to existing homes; there would be increased traffic endangering children; and there was a lack of amenities, such as a communal garden or public services for residents.
Att planerna möts av en konservatism som prinsen byggt genom konceptet Poundbury är inte utan sin ironi. Som Guardian newsblog konstaterar:
History is full of radical popular uprisings against reactionary royals - but this isn’t one of them. Here, the objectors to the proposals have achieved the dubious honour of being more conservative than the Prince of Wales. They seem to favour more sprawl, not less.
